Infrastructure Adviser Centre

Infrastructure provides the economy with the essential assets and services society depends on to function, grow successfully, and have a profound impact on people’s daily lives. The COVID-19 pandemic has strengthened the structural demand for increased infrastructure spending, evidenced by the response and commitment of Governments globally. We take a deliberately defensive approach predominantly investing in asset-backed and income producing investments across the infrastructure landscape.

Alternative investments provide access to investment opportunities generally not available in a traditional stock/bond portfolio allocation. With enhanced return and income potential, and a wide array of diversified strategies, alternative investments can be a valuable addition to a portfolio. They can also be highly effective when the markets are experiencing greater volatility, higher inflation, and increased correlations in traditional assets.

How we invest

Infrastructure at TIME is made up of traditional, renewable, digital and social infrastructure investments.

Making connections

Infrastructure investment offers an alternative to volatile stock markets and can help to diversify a portfolio and align with environmental, social and economic considerations. This includes: gas pipelines, water facilities and transport networks.

Going green

In 2020, the UK Government announced an 'infrastructure revolution' encouraging us to shift from relying on imported fossil fuels in favour of increasing domestic renewable energy sector. This includes: wind, solar, biomass and hydro.

The digital revolution

With the data economy being the UK's fastest-growing sector, accounting for 4% of GDP in 2020, the field is becoming crucial in infrastructure investing. This includes: data centres, wireless towers or fibre networks.

For the greater good

Incorporating social infrastructure assets in a portfolio creates the opportunity to support essential services while benefiting from long-term consistent income flows backed by Government. This includes: healthcare, education and housing facilities.

Why are we specialists in infrastructure?

The TIME group manages over £1 billion high‑quality asset-backed and listed infrastructure securities across several asset types. Its dedicated in-house team of investment specialists focus on delivering positive environmental, social and economic benefits through investing in UK infrastructure, renewable energy, logistics, social and digital infrastructure.

Our dedicated infrastructure fund, TIME:UK Infrastructure Income is actively managed and provides investors with diversification away from traditional asset classes to an infrastructure fund that targets a consistent income return with some long term capital growth potential. As a house, we focus on sectors that have traditionally been defensive and lowly correlated compared to wider equity markets.
